Athletics

Daegu International School believes that school athletics are an integral component of the complete educational structure. DIS athletics aims to provide opportunities for our student-athletes to have fun, build friendships, and develop sportsmanship skills.

DIS is a member of the South Korea Association of International Schools (SKAIS) and Korean International Schools Activities Conference (KISAC), which provides elementary (grades 3-5), middle (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12) students with opportunities to participate in athletics, fine arts, and academic events with other international schools throughout South Korea. Students at DIS participate in athletics for fun and for health benefits. Our athletics program promotes wellness, as well as fostering teamwork and the competitive spirit

ATHLETIC PROGRAMS

FALL

ES Futsal

The elementary futsal season is an opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation to compete in the SKAIS divisionals and finals against conference opponents.

MS Futsal

The middle school futsal season is an opportunity for students in grades 6-8 to compete in both the SKAIS and KISAC tournaments throughout season 1. Both of these tournaments are finals tournaments, with the opportunities to compete for the SKAIS and KISAC championships! The practice dates are on Mondays and Fridays on the DIS futsal fields.

HS Volleyball

The high school volleyball season is an opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to compete in both the SKAIS and KISAC tournaments throughout season 1. Both of these tournaments are finals tournaments, with the opportunities to compete for the SKAIS and KISAC championships! The practice dates are on Mondays and Fridays in the DIS Jetnasium.

MS/HS Cross Country

The middle and high school cross country season is an opportunity for the students in grades 6-12 to compete for both the SKAIS and KISAC championships. The practice times will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:20-5:45, and practices will happen around DIS and Bongmu Lake

ES Cross Country

The elementary cross country season is an opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation to compete in the SKAIS divisionals and finals against conference opponents. The cross country practices will be around DIS and the Bongmu Lake area.
