Mission and Statement of Purpose

The mission of the Daegu International School Library Media Center is to provide materials and services to help the DIS community meet their educational and informational needs. Special emphasis is placed on supporting students at elementary academic levels and on stimulating children's interests and appreciation for reading and learning. In order to meet this mission, the DIS School Library's collection provides a wide range of materials for its users.

Library Media Center Hours

The DIS Library Media Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the academic year. On Wednesday the hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. Residence students can access the library Monday to Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. under the supervision of our teachers.

The library offers access to a variety of online resources around the clock. The library is closed on weekends, public holidays and school holidays/vacations. All books should be turned in before the end of school year.

Library Parental Check-out Policy

The Library encourages parents to check books out for their children and for their own reading enjoyment for a limit of 21-days (3 weeks) between the hours of 2:40 pm and 4:30 pm on weekdays except for Wednesdays. The Librarian asks that parents NOT allow their child to return materials checked out in the parents’ names. Please come to the Library to return your book and feel free to browse around and check-out more!
