Extracurriculars

There are many extracurricular activities that take place at Daegu International School.Our extracurricular program is a comprehensive combination of co-curricular athletic, academic, cultural, artistic, and social awareness activities that allow students to grow as global citizens, learn teamwork, and have fun with their peers. Students in grades 1 through 12 have an opportunity to register for extracurriculars every trimester, as offerings change based on the seasons and student/parent/teacher feedback.

Procedures

All students in grades 1-12 have an opportunity to select after school activities (ASA) each trimester Every student who wants to participate must complete the online application by the due dates.

Policies

All ASAs are a privilege. Unacceptable behavior towards any instructor or other students will not be tolerated. If there are continued behavioral issues, the student can be removed from the ASA at the discretion of the instructor and an administrator. Students cannot change their activity after the ASA begins. This may cause in a cancellation of an activity or for particular activities to become overcrowded.

If an activity has to be canceled on the day it is to occur, the students will attend study hall until the end of the activity period or they can go home with parental permission. Students who are not in an after-school activity should leave the DIS campus by 2:40PM.

FALL

ES Futsal

The elementary futsal season is an opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation to compete in the SKAIS divisionals and finals against conference opponents.

MS Futsal

The middle school futsal season is an opportunity for students in grades 6-8 to compete in both the SKAIS and KISAC tournaments throughout season 1. Both of these tournaments are finals tournaments, with the opportunities to compete for the SKAIS and KISAC championships! The practice dates are on Mondays and Fridays on the DIS futsal fields.

HS Volleyball

The high school volleyball season is an opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to compete in both the SKAIS and KISAC tournaments throughout season 1. Both of these tournaments are finals tournaments, with the opportunities to compete for the SKAIS and KISAC championships! The practice dates are on Mondays and Fridays in the DIS Jetnasium.

MS/HS Cross Country

The middle and high school cross country season is an opportunity for the students in grades 6-12 to compete for both the SKAIS and KISAC championships. The practice times will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:20-5:45, and practices will happen around DIS and Bongmu Lake

ES Cross Country

The elementary cross country season is an opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation to compete in the SKAIS divisionals and finals against conference opponents. The cross country practices will be around DIS and the Bongmu Lake area.
